فاكهة الأساي هي فاكهة عضوية(تنبت طبيعياً بدون تدخل بشري) تنمو على ضفاف نهر الأمازون في البرازيل ولا يمكن إعادة استزراعها أو نقلها في مكان آخر حول العالم لعدم تكيفها في بيئة غير بيئة نهر الأمازون في البرازيل.
